ART CRAWL

For members who enjoy cutting edge abstraction, you might want to visit Grainger Gallery in the new arts precinct at Dairy Flat Road. Access is a bit of a mess at present as the developer is installing a large water feature immediately in front of the gallery but it is worth the effort.

This is a solo exhibition showing the work of Dr Stefanie Schulte, the painting having been flown in from Europe for the show. Although appearing spontaneous and random her mark-making and colour order are extremely considered. Smaller paintings range from geometric manipulated studies optimising the push and pull of warm and cool colours to large canvases with what appears to be random and responsive brushwork. All display the subtle genius that comes from years of colour and form study.

These are paintings that relate instantly to your soul without having to understand why.

Hope you enjoy!
