Our Behind the Scenes tour of the Canberra Museum and Gallery delighted this group of CAW members. Always a joy to see new works, and works not on display, and hear some of the background stories. This tour included newly gifted gouache paintings of Canberra and region by John Telfer Gray from the 1940s (shown), as well as a look at Eirene Mort’s etchings to be featured in a future exhibition. Thank you to Dale Middleby, Senior Curator Social History (not pictured) and Deborah Clark, Senior Curator Visual Arts for their insightful tour.
We also enjoyed a relaxing cuppa together at the Cafe on site following the tour to extend our art talk time.
Don’t miss our next Behind the Scenes tour at the National Library of Australia on 28 March. Limited places. See our Events Section for more information.
